Farewell & Welcome BBQ Party for International Students!!

We held an outdoor farewell and welcome BBQ party for Jules🇫🇷-san, who is returning to his home country this month, and Jungha🇰🇷-san, who has just joined the lab as a new international student this month!

On the day, we had plenty of meat and we chatted about everything from casual topics to research activities across a wide range of subjects. Even though we were worried about rain, the BBQ went smoothly, and being able to enjoy the natural breeze made for a truly refreshing, open-air party!

Jules-san actively interacted with lab members from his very first day in the lab, and even though his stay was a short three months, he blended into the lab better than I (Yamada) have (lol). We’d love to see him again! After returning to France, he’ll be at a different university from the one in Besançon where he was studying before, so everyone in the lab is rooting for him!

Jungha-san is a PhD student from South Korea, and from July to December she’ll be advancing her research related to autonomous driving. She apparently likes Tamama from Keroro Gunso, so please feel free to bond with her over that! There will also be big lab events like the “lab retreat” before December, so there will be plenty of great opportunities for communication — don’t miss out!

Looking forward to the next party too! See you all then~
