This is Angie Chen (M2).
The 6th Korea-Japan Workshop on Mixed Reality (KJMR2013) was held in Okinawa.
The goal of the workshop is for researchers to share and exchange results and experiences.
Date: April 12-14, 2013.
Place: OIST Seaside House, Okinawa, Japan.
I really appreciate that Kato-sensei gave me the opportunity to join this workshop.
Taketomi-sensei, Yuichiro, Marc and I presented this time.
During presentation practices in the lab, my presentation time was always too short.
The structure was also not ideally for audience to understand.
Thanks for all the feedback and comments from lab members and especially Igor and Henry.
Igor and Henry discussed with me and helped me to fixed slides until 2am before our departure.
The questions I got after my presentation in KJMR2013 are:
1) Can your application be used for other subjects or content?
(This is the question that I cannot answer properly. However, it is a very important.
At this point I haven’t consider other content but I will check the material of the school and see of there are something we can apply.)
2) You only overlay one past image at a time, can you overlay all the past images together?
A: Yes, we can. However, we have the slider function for user to control, so we didn’t display all images at once.
But this can be done easily.
3) Is it easy for user to match the position?
A: At this point, we are trying to find out the threshold so that it is easy for user to fixed the position while maintain the accuracy for superimposition.
This is my first time to participate a workshop as presenter.
I wasn’t regret to apply the opportunity even it gave me nervousness and lot of pressure.
I know I need to go through this for more experiences and to look deeply in my research.
After fixing the problem and have a complete results, I would like to participate more workshops/conferences.
