Yoshinari Nishiki

Biography

Yoshinari Nishiki received a Master of Arts in Interactive Media from the Centre for Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Since 2009, Yoshinari has been active as an artist in the field of Technology and Art, working on various projects that question the efficiency of money and the concept of productivity. He has presented at Hackers on Planet Earth (New York, US), Art Meets Radical Openness (Linz, Austria), Abandon Normal Devices (North West England, UK), the International Festival of Computer Arts (Maribor, Slovenia), among other events.

After leading more than 30 projects, Yoshinari has developed the concept of (un)making, a potential new mode of production in which, technically, no production occurs. He is currently focused on establishing the (un)made certificate, the ultimate ecolabel, through his research on (un)making at the IMD Lab.

Although Yoshinari’s hometown is Nara, he currently resides in the Netherlands. Therefore, he is pursuing his PhD remotely from his hometown!
